I recently posted about the stars getting together to record We Are The World 25 for Haiti. Well the video was released Friday for the Winter Olympics. It’s an awesome song, so naturally I am going to like it. While I could have done without the auto tune parts, I find it fitting because it’s used in music today, so it represents the time. It’s cool to see people on this version that weren’t even born when the first was released. A little piece of history. Who knows if there will be a We Are The World 50 or what it would sound like. Let me know your thoughts on this version.

We Are The World '10

On Monday, at the same Hollywood recording studio the original We Are The World was recorded, today’s hottest celebrities gathered to remake the classic song.  I think this is super cool.  I remember growing up and listening to the original We Are The World.  I love that song.  Cyndi Lauper’s verse was my favorite part of the song.  The mix of different music styles sounds awesome.  I’m sure the new version won’t disappoint with Quincy Jones and Lionel Richie in charge.  Can’t wait to hear the new version.  The single is scheduled to premiere February 12 on NBC during the opening ceremonies of the Winter Olympics.
