Dangerously Beautiful

While visiting McDonald’s for a cup a coffee (the best thing on their menu), I discovered that they have sweet potato pie on the menu. What is going on here? I though to myself they’ve really gone too far here. Sweet Potato pie for only 50 cents? The inner fat girl had to try it pronto. I have to say that my expectations were set pretty low when I received the warm orange box.(I’m not a fan of the apple that everyone likes at all). To my surprise, it really wasn’t that bad. It’s not a traditional southern sweet potato pie (I can’t wait till Thanksgiving to sink my spoon inside of a warm slice with vanilla ice cream), but all the spices were there and it was a great accompaniment for my coffee. More like a sweet potato strudel. It’s definitely worth a try. Check it out and let me know what you think.

Thanksgiving is next week and I can’t wait to stuff my face with all the delicious food! But my favorite part of course is dessert.  I am having tons of family over this year, so there will be an assortment of desserts, but my favorite by far will be sweet potato pie.  I know the American tradition may be pumpkin pie, but to a southerner, there isn’t an comparison to sweet potato!  I mean I’ll eat a slice of pumpkin pie, because I love sweets, but it just reminds me of cinnamon.  Sweet Potato pie has the delicious combination of sweet potato, cinnamon, nutmeg, and just yummy!  I can’t wait.  What’s your favorite Thanksgiving dessert?
