Flashback Friday

Friday, February 26th, 2010

Happy Friday everyone!!! I will start bringing back some of my favs from the past. I’m starting with music, but I want to include anything from the past like clothing, art, television, etc. Let me know some of the things you would like to see.

This is what I am feeling today. “I don’t need permission, I can make my own decisions. That’s My Prerogative!”

Betcha Think Twice About Asking Him To Jump

Thursday, February 25th, 2010

shamuI love killer whales and I like to see them at Sea World. Well yesterday a killer whale lived up to his name.  I don’t know what the trainer said about Tilikum, but he showed her who was really in charge.  Witnesses report that Tilikum “swam around the tank, leapt out and grabbed the woman by the waist with his jaws and then thrashed her about until her shoes came off.”  The 40-year old trainer, who was one of the most skilled at Sea World, died.

Their was an announcement  made at the beginning of the show that the whales weren’t cooperating and just wanted to splash around.  That to me means that they should have canceled the show and let the whales just chill and eat fish.  I mean think about it.  When the whales are in the ocean they just swim around and eat all the fish they want.  Now you have them in a tank, which is like a bathtub compared to the ocean, and they have to jump and do tricks to get fish.  WTF.

Maybe it’s time to let Tilikum go.  He’s the largest to be in captivity and whales are “intelligent creatures with emotions and feelings.”  It’s like Tilikum has been listening to Lil Wayne and is telling Sea World, “Ok you’re a goon, but what ‘s a goon to a goblin.”

Ladies Don’t Be Fooled- Photoshop Magic

Thursday, February 25th, 2010

You know all those natural beauties on magazine covers that drive you to the gym, the MAC counter, and liposuction?  Well their skin isn’t that smooth & wrinkle free, their breasts aren’t that full, their abs aren’t that tight, and their butts aren’t that cellulite free.  There are tons of sites that show us the before & after of photoshop retouching, and this one does a darn good job as well.

At Dangerously Beautiful, we retouch our photos.  You don’t get that sheen without it.  But we don’t create new women out of thin air.  Check out some “air-brushing” below.

Picture 1Picture 2

Check out how they take 1/4-person off Nicole Ritchie.

See Li Li. Now meet Avatar Li Li.  It’s cool…if you’re into cartoons.

Picture 6Picture 7

Brothas obviously don’t work at this spot.  They slimmed off the booty.  The “urban” mag approach is to add-on gluteus maximus (i.e. your “honey of the month/candy of the week/barbie-esque-kingmag covers, etc).

Just be you. “You can’t airbrush personality.” – unknown

Convient or Unforgivable

break-up

Well it’s 2010, so things are bound to change.  Gas costs more than lunch and sometimes you can’t reach your friend by phone, you have to send them a tweet.  With technology taking over and daily interactions mainly taking place through email, text, and Facebook, is digital dumping allowed?

My first reaction was hell no.  It reminds me of the Sex and The City episode when Carrie was dumped on a Post It.  I thought that was pretty messed up.  I mean you don’t have to buy dinner or have a 5 hour conversation, but some sort of personal interaction I believe is appropriate.

But I asked some people (both men and women) and they shed light on another point of view.  They feel that it’s easier, quicker, and avoids misunderstandings.  I have to admit that I can see their point, but come on.  Changing your Facebook status to Single without even discussing the issue with your partner seems like an asshole to me.  What are your thoughts?

So Bad, But So Good

burger

I’m not a real big meat eater, so when I crave it, it has to be the best.  You probably won’t believe me, because most don’t at first, but I don’t really do fast food.  Just doesn’t do it for me.  I may be a chubster, but it’s from great food. The kind that takes time to prepare and you really have to savor every bite. Those of you that are foodies feel me.

Anyhow, rarely I find myself craving a nice juicy cheeseburger.  That normally means me going to the store to buy meat and making it myself at home because I only like my meat well done and the rest of the world likes half cooked food.  Gross!!!  But I found a place that makes awesome burgers and equally delicious French fries.  Five Guys Burgers and Fries.  I can’t think of any other word than YUMMY!  My favorite is a single cheeseburger with everything.  Good thing I always split my fries.  I just read they have the worst fries in regards to fat and calories.  Oh well.  Who goes to eat a hamburger and fries to think about the fat.  We all know it’s bad for you!  Where’s your favorite place to get a hamburger?

Coldest Winter

Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010

I have to admit that it took some time for me to like 808s and Heartbreak. I guess it was just really different for me. Leave it up to Kanye to experiment with different music and sounds. Being a Kanye fan, sorry Taylor, I’ve gotten used to his “unique” style and this video doesn’t disappoint. Let me know your thoughts.

In Case You Were Wondering…..

mail

I’m sure you all remember the big anthrax scare in 2001.  Two postal workers died, so everyone was afraid to touch mail and wore gloves because the nation believe that we were under another terrorist attack.  Well the FBI has finally closed the case and determined that the person responsible for the hysteria was Army scientist Bruce Ivins.  Was is just me or did anyone else wonder why Anthrax just went away.  Well according to FBI reports, he was actually part of the investigation and even honored for his efforts on anthrax.  So he couldn’t continue spreading Anthx rawhen he’s supposed to be helping find the bad guy.  Ivins killed himself in 2008 as prosecutors prepared to indict him for the attacks. Oh boy, the enemy is always so close.

100 Percent

Monday, February 22nd, 2010

Here’s a new video of Mariah Carey singing 100%.  People can say what they want about Mariah, but she’s just great at what she does best which is singing.  I like this song which is AT&T Team USA Soundtrack for the 2010 Winter Olympics.  I love choirs.  They add so much emotion into a song.  Take a listen.  The words are a great motivation.  Dangerously Beautiful women always give 100%, so go ahead and put your Ones up!

What about your friends?

Monday, February 22nd, 2010

Dorice MooreWow, my mother always told me to be careful about your so called “friends” and this story shows why.  The picture to the left is a woman named Dorice Donegan Moore and she was charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of a lottery millionaire whose body was found buried under fresh concrete. Moore befriended Abraham Shakespeare after he won a $31 million Florida lottery prize in 2006.  What people will do for money.  I’m not going to pretend like $31 million isn’t a lot of money, but that’s exactly why you have to be careful who you really call a friend.  “Friends, how many of us have them?”  I’m just saying….
